The parliamentary elections are approaching in your country. Two leading candidates are competing in your riding.
The first one is from your ethnic group and your region. He supported your community during the floods, helped families in need, funded the neighborhood mosque. But everyone knows that he is incompetent, corrupt, and that he will vote as his party tells him without ever defending your region in parliament.
The second is a recognized, integrated technocrat with a strong education and health agenda. But it comes from an ethnic group with which your community has a conflict history. And ten years ago, he spoke against your region.
You know the first one won't change anything. You think the second one could make things better. But voting for him in your neighborhood is betraying yours to everyone.
Who are you voting for?
- The candidate from your community : solidarity, belonging, protection — at the price of the quality of the performance.
- The competent candidate : vote for the programme, general interest — at the cost of the Community breakdown.
