There are moments in the history of nations where immobilism becomes a dangerous luxury. For Senegal, this moment has arrived.
More than 60 years after independence, Senegal's trajectory remains marked by persistent economic dependencies, inherited institutions and imported governance models, often inadequate to local realities.
Despite the abundance of natural resources – hydrocarbons, minerals, agricultural land – the structural transformation of the economy remains limited, and social benefits remain unevenly distributed.
This episode offers a fundamental reflection on the real cost of exploiting natural wealth and raises a central question: how can we build a sovereign national project, based on a re-founding of institutions, governance and the relationship to the state, conceived by and for Senegalese?
