TikTok has become a space of expression, business, claim... and sometimes transgression. It is now in the raw light of the algorithm that new social narratives are being built.
For part of Senegalese youth, social networks represent both an economic opportunity, a means of social recognition and a space for asserting identity, in a context marked by unemployment and lack of prospects.
But behind the digital effervescence, there emerges worrying drifts: the commodification of intimacy, normalization of exhibition, manipulation of audiences and increasing dependence on algorithmic logic.
This episode offers a critical analysis of these new uses, questioning the increasingly tenuous boundary between expression and illusion, influence and exploitation, individual freedom and digital alienation.
